Banned Books Community Library Initiative

At Ben Salem Presbyterian Church, we believe that knowledge empowers communities, strengthens understanding, and creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue. Through our partnership with the NAACP Charlotte-Mecklenburg Branch, we are proud to serve as a collection site for banned, challenged, and diverse books that help ensure every voice has the opportunity to be heard.

This initiative is about more than books—it's about preserving access to information, encouraging critical thinking, and fostering a community where people of all ages can learn from a variety of perspectives. We invite individuals, families, educators, and community partners to join us in supporting this effort by donating books, educational resources, or simply helping us spread the word.

Together, we can build a library that reflects the richness of our stories, our history, and our shared future.
